Do I need the clutch tool to swap the clutch plate?

I'm installing the Ducabike clear clutch cover and inner ring, but I also got their nice clutch plate to go with it (while I got it open I figured why not).

Dealer says I should let them install the actual pressure plate because you need a special tool to hold it all together. Is this true? How hard would it be without the tool?
