So at 5mm I would say your plates are fine

Wait I’m confused…wouldn’t less than 5mm mean they are not worn out as much….

Interface material loss means a thinner stack. How many times did you use launch control?

Never used LC. And I was measuring from the outside of clutch inward so a smaller number to me would mean less ware…? I think I’m just gonna bleed first but still order plates. Just trying to decide on OEM ones vs the STM since it’s pretty big price diff…

Do you take this much time to come to most decisions?

when there are no comments confirming or denying that stm is same as oem yes I’m in no rush… unless you answered me in your mind and then posted a stupid remark about it thinking you said it in a post.

Well done!

And if you are doing it yourself you’ll need the stm clutch holding tool and the correct tools!

I would buy the best quality plates going but before that just buy one 2mm 48 tooth steel plate, even a second hand one.,And when your measurement is up to 5.5mm then Strip it clean and replace one of the 1.5 with the 2 mm this will bring your measurement back to around 5mm….

And then say thank you

Hey! 2023 V4SP2 owner with 10k miles here! at 3500 miles and if the issue started after spirited riding it is time for a new set of clutch plates! measuring like that is pointless. I take them out and measure with a caliper mainly to ensure that the steel plates are still good (I save money by changing the friction plates only and change the steel plates when it is actually needed.) But don't waste your time, its the clutch plates! DQS is sensitive so shifting becomes difficult when the plates are due for a change. Happened to me on multiple occasions. Additionally chain slack or sprocket wear can effect DQS as well but at 3500 miles its very very unlikely thats the case. Hope this helps, albeit 4 months later lol
