Do not buy Rizoma PROGUARD SYSTEM RACING

i would suspect that a guard getting a hard impact would not shatter but would most likely damage the structure of the carbon resulting in fatigue cracks, weaken that section making it more prone to crack if damage again

Getting a decent wack in that area resulting in the CF cracking is going to be least of your problems .

you have to keep in mind, that the weaving and the layers of the CF in this structure are positioned for maximum energy absorption, not for maximum strength. so they do exactly what they are supposed to do. they shatter instead of the drivers bones.

CF parts don't break or bend equally. in general, carbon fiber strings have the best strength in pull direction, but with correct layout, they are strong in other axis as well.

I think plastic lever guards are more practical. Rizomas even come with a spare set, I like mine and worked well in real world testing.

"I decree that from this day forward the manufacturer formerly known as "Rizoma" shall now beknown by the new name of "Ripoffoma"..........

Also,
Now to try find a company to make custom 35mm cored upper race rad who will not up there prices by between 5 to 6 just because we want for for a motorbike.

Iv crashed using the Ducabike carbon lever protector and it did a good job,it did snap off pinging me in the visor but overall protected the bar and surrounding fairing.

I have the Rizoma 'racing' pro-guard brand new in box for sale if anyone is interested

I have the Rizoma for right hand brake only and yes its polyamide or nylon or something like that. It is what it is, flexible to give I guess. The set screws for mounting the plastic part seems cheapy, however, IMO

Went with Rizoma proguard racing version on my Pani R again. Got the reg version on my MV as well

I was looking at the R&G guard for my RR, also in carbon fiber... but its only available for the brake side (kind of makes some sense), though it costs close to $250.

These are $190 USD and look fantastic. Definite plus is that they make one for the clutch side as well. I realize that it has to do with protecting the brake from getting bumped, but apart from the headlight, I do prefer at least some symmetry.
