Before I buy the DP Race Seat or Luimoto Cover I wanted to ask if the seat absorbs water or shed it like the stock seat? I use my 1199 as a daily commuter (no legal tracks here;-). I like how I can give the stock seat a quick wipe down and stay dry. Thanks-

I didn't think about that, I was thinking about getting the DP race seat. Every morning I clean off frost or dew in the parking lot before I go to work.

Yeah I really don't want to sit on a wet sponge while I'm riding.

Surely you at least have it under a cover? Can't imagine leaving it outside day in day out.

Hi,

Ive got the Luimoto cover on the standard seat and once fitted I sprayed it with a nano-tech water repellent (bought from a shoe shop normally for suede shoes!!) and it works a treat, no standing water and it doesn't soak anything up at all :)

Ciao

I have the DP race seat and washed the bike the other day and it didnt absorb any water. You should be good to go.

Thanks for the replies. It's not undercover during the time I'm at work. Like I said it's not a garage queen. Good idea with the waterproof spray. As some know it might rain four or five times a day for a few minutes here. Anyone else have any other input?
