DQS into 6th gear

Yup happens when I pin the throttle hard going from 5th to 6th. Not all the time but like most of you said, I brought it up to my dealer and they said I have to reproduce it consistently for them to diagnose.

I've had it happen as well when I hold wide open, it almost stumbles... So now I let off to about 3/4 or 4/5 instead of twisting it all the way to the end and it goes in butter smooth.

Just had this issue come up for the first time this race weekend.

First time out with the Blipbox, and thought maybe that was the issue, but after more research it's probably the gear position sensor. It needs to be recalibrated or replaced by the dealer.

Every single sportbike I've ridden needs to be accelerating to clutchless upshift.

What unloads the transmission? When you suddenly stop accelerating, then it slides right into gear. If your coasting at high rpm, or holding a constant speed, it's not going to be a smooth shift.

It's called a QUICK shifter for a reason. If you're just wiggling through traffic at low speed while singing show tunes, use the clutch.

The only time I use the clutch is when starting off from stopped.

The only issue I've ever had with the DQS is near redline shifts from 4th into 5th or 5th into 6th.

After adjusting my linkage to make the pedal sit down a bit more things got much better and shifting overall feels much more smooth.

Interestingly, I've always noticed 5th to 6th as one of the smoothest quick shifts out of them all. Had a few shifts in to neutral from 2nd to 3rd though and a couple when you try to shift and it seems to bog down for a second before shifting.

Those who had their gear position sensor replaced. How are your shifts now? Where does it hiccup , 4-5 or 5-6?
