Is anyone using the Drift HD camera on their Panigale? Where are you mounting the unit? Just curious on anyone's experiences with this camera.

I have the Drift Action HD 1080p - outstanding equipment. I usually mount it on the right side of my helmet, however I have various mounting accessories.

I purchased the Drift Ghost and mounted it with a 1 inch Ram Ball. I just looked thru all the mounts at Garmin GPS & Accessories, RAM Mounts, Lowrance GPS, TomTom GPS at GPS City and found what I needed.

I mounted in center of steering nut with one of there cheap ball mounts and then went to hardware store and bought a folding wing nut and screw to mount it with. No need to pay $80.00 for ball mount as this works great. I got a 2 inch extention for the 1 inch ball and put a ball with 1/4 x 20 screw and plate to mount camera. I think I spent a total of $35.00 for complete mount.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the detailed info.
I'm going to make three mounts to choose from, steering stem, tail, and fork.

Got it all mounted. The same way I might add too. Thanks for the tips.

What is the item name for the piece going into the top yoke? Is it RAM item? If so is there a part reference I can use?

Unfortunately I spent the extra money on the Ram Fork stem base even though I was told it wouldn't fit. I can use the extra stem parts on my fiddy and add a beer holder. :D
There are many options from GPScity that may have worked too. I went with this one https://www.gpscity.com/ramb342 took away the plug and added a 3/16" bolt and folding wingnut you can get at any hardware store.

Glad to see you got it working. Wingnut works great, the only problem I see is if I ever want to remove it. Ha Ha!!!

Clever!

I got a Hero3 for Christmas and that would've been a good solution. But, I put the smoked windscreen on before the I got the camera and now I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

Have you even tried it? I used to have a dark smoke screen on my GSXR and even the old video camera I had filmed straight through the near black screen with no issues. You shouldn't have any problems.

There's a cap at the bottom of the triple clamp. :p

very easy, cut a square of plastic. Drill an hole in the middle and then use this thing here to fix it in the nut hole. :D

1/8 in. x 2 in. Zinc-Plated Steel Mushroom-Head Toggle Bolt Anchors-10242 at The Home Depot

:eek::eek:

That Home Depot screw/wingnut is what Brickcues and I are referring to. (in conjunction with the Ram Mounts)

I didn't ride with it, but put it on to see. It might work if the entire view is through the windscreen, but with the newer camera wide angle lens, the edges of the field of view are about +3-4 stops. So, the camera tries to account for the brightness and then the windscreen view is even darker.
