Went to go for a ride tonight, didnt even make it off the drive. Turned me back to shut the gate and the bloody thing fell over.

Bent the clutch lever, broke the left side handle bar and lots of scratches to the fairings, cant bleedin believe it.

Could kick myself

No worries bud, happens to the best of us. Invest in some T-Rex sliders. They aren't the prettiest but when I dropped mine all I lost was the left mirror. Not a scratch on the fairings at all.

I can certainly second this statement. I went down at the track in a corner doing nearly 70MPH (I was going about 109km/h) last week. The bodywork had NO damage whatsoever... The Axle sliders got completely chewed up, but better them than the body.

As a result, two (2) on my buddies just bought T-Rex sliders for their bikes.

Sorry to hear about that, all can be fixed

Are Trex better than Sato?

sorry to hear what happen there. if you have insurance then maybe you can file a claim to have all the parts replace. the plastic fairings can be expensive if you replace it with OEM parts.

Dropped

Maybe you dropped it because of cold tires, a la Dovi a couple of races ago on a warm up lap. Maybe you dropped it because you were pushing beyond your current limits. Maybe you dropped it because you were looking at the umbrella girl. Hurts no matter what. Good you are OK. Bikes can be fixed. I won't gloat because it hasn't happened to me and Sophia (2012 1199s). Yet. Sooner or later it will. If it doesn't, I know I'm too old to be in this game. (63 shortly). Something Bob Marley said seems appropriate: "If she's amazing, she won't be easy. If she's easy, she won't be amazing. If she's worth it, you won't give up. if you give up, you're not worthy"¦.Truth is, everyone is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for."

Both went down in the wet and dropped my bike....phenomenal how little damage there is. Woodcraft engine cover helped, but man--it's an amazing thing to pick the bike up off its side to find no damage to the bodywork or tank! The mirror, on the other hand....

I dropped my bike at standstill once and the mirror broke! No, not the side that touched the ground, that one folded. It was the other side that broke!!

Whilst we're 'fessing up, I dropped mine a couple weeks ago - first time I've dropped a bike too - but I got away with it "almost" completely...

Been out for about 3 hours and it was dark when I got home - first time home on it in the dark - lights are ace btw. Stopped in front of the garage door and kicked the stand down whilst still sat on, as I usually do. I heard it make it's metallic springy noise as it hits it's stop but couldn't see that it was down (and didn't check) and it had actually sprung and bounced back up. Went to get off and the bike just kept on leaning over to the point where I couldn't hold it, but managed to lay it down as softly as I could. To my amazement, the only damage was a slight scratch to the end of the clutch lever, which I could probably have lived with, but I fit another one last weekend. Lesson learned...

Something very similar happened to me, but I refused to let her drop. I spoke in strange languages and arrested her downwards movement before she could hit the deck and picked her right up again with my last bit of reserve power. No scratches. :D
