I have a Ducati 620 Sport from 2003 and I've for a little while now experienced an issue that has sadly made it so I cannot ride it anymore.

The gist of it is, I pull the clutch lever, the clutch does not disengage. I have already, replaced the fluid on it, bled the fluid on it twice after. I have taken the slave cylinder off to see if it did anything, and it certainly seemed to be doing something (after a few pumps of the clutch lever). I have pulled the lever with the top of the master cylinder off, to see if it did anything at all, and as it should, it sprayed me with DOT fluid (while I was doing the first replacing of the fluid).

On top of that I have verified that it does in fact seem to do "something" when I pull the clutch in, and it does sound like it's disengaging (you know, the classic rickety rackety sound of the plates), but when I try to engage a gear, it just slams into the gear and then bogs the bike down immediately (no cushion or anything, just straight up banged into gear and dead).

My next option is to open up the other side itself to show the clutch, I have to drain the oil and replace it anyway so that's not too much of a bother anyway. But I'm not sure how much I'll be able to find out from there either, hopefully I'll be able to actually see the clutch move (or not move I guess?).

My main hope is that someone here can shed some more insight as to what my issues could be stemming from, I appreciate any input you could give me. Thank you for reading/helping me.

Check clutch stack height first but most likely the master cylinder has had its day , this was a constant problem on my 2006 Monster
I replaced the slave cylinder bleed the system and it was fine then next ride same as yours .Replaced line and checked all the banjo fittings .
Ended up being a worn out master .

It ended up being rusted/seized clutch discs/plates. I had to take them out, clean them completely, and make sure that the ones that don't have the pads on them are nice and flat again. I then put it all back in, new oil, new oil filter.

Ended up working perfectly fine again, no giant bonk when putting it into gear, and drove off rather nice.
