A lot of guys bling their bikes out, but my focus is on fine-tuning it and making it utterly dependable. I could go with all that carbon fiber stuff, maybe save 3-4 lbs over the entire bike, but the cost is incredible. I already have the bike getting ready to break the 400 lbs mark when the new exhaust is installed, and after that it's just getting rid of the weak links to make it as bulletproof as possible. Gonna probably start with a new water pump and metal gears for it, since the nylon ones are almost 10 years old. since I'll be in there I plan to pull the pana nd screen and clean then thoroughly and do another oil change, even though I have less than 3K on the current one, and of course do the coolant again. I did the 15K service myself 2500 miles ago, so I know all the mechanicals are within specs. After that just keep it clean, maintain it properly, and don't get crazy with it. I even dropped the hard red line cutoff to 11K instead of 11.5. Over revs are murder on rod bearings, and I've seen too many cases of the 1199/1299's losing a big end bearing when they get abused.
Best of luck.
