Ducati Customer Service Nightmare

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I had bad customer service Orlando ducati call DNA and explained my problem. I went to ocala ducati got issues resolved for free and got a 250 gift card from DNA
I will never change brands duc been by far the best bike I have ever had this is my fourth 1 and 1 day may own SL

The mere fact that we are talking about needing to do our own maintenance because the service experience is not up to snuff is really indicative of a much larger problem. Maybe if enough people vote with their wallets and move away from the brand they will make some changes.

Yeah, master techs don't make jack anymore. Especially in something as easy to fix as a motorcycle. I get it all the time, people ask me why my labor rates are high. But our rates are the same as the rates they gladly pay on their Audi/BMW/Mercedes. Even my greenest rookie techs could service and repair those blind folded. It's childs play.

Maybe if shops charging $124 an hour could give a decent chunk of that to decent techs, they'd still have decent techs.

Best example is the mass exodus of techs moving away from Chrysler, and soon Ford, for really weak flat rate pay on warranty work.

No, just saying everybody needs to stop generalizing. There are 100's of dealers around the world that sell Ducatis. Only a handful have been chastized, and in some cases, OPs that use the same dealer have defended them. None of these complaints about one dealer or one bike have anything to do with the other thousands of bikes and dealers. "My bike sucks" doesn't mean Ducatis/1199s suck. But that's what a lot of complainers here do. Again, I said I take it with a bag of salt, didn't tell anyone else to. :)

Think Trauma and I are family.....

Come on guys, if you own bikes you're subject to bike problems, period. Trade your bikes for donkeys and you'll have donkey problems. Get the hint where this is going?

True, but all I am saying is with a premium product like a Panigale or any other Ducati when you do have problems they should be fixed correctly the first time and other parts of the bike not fucked up in the process.

My Panigales has had a name change to Ducati Donkey - its that bad!!

I have been to 3 different dealers and all have very very reputable names.

But at what point do you decide enough is enough - its not that the dealers dont deal with you sympathetically or that the warranty isnt coughing up its the fact that more or less every 3 months the bike is back in again with pretty major work needing doing

Heres my list of warranty work in 18 months of ownership

1) New dash
2) New Clutch Slave
3) New Engine
4) New Forks
5) New Rear Shock
6) New Exhausts
7) New GPS

Now its pretty much a new bike BUT I ride around thinking whats gonna grenade next

Funny... I haven't been on this forum in awhile but I see there are still some of the same threads going on with the same comments and some of the same commenters.

Everyone has their own experience with their dealer and bike. Some good and some bad but how many threads are created about how awesome and perfect your bike and dealership are? I'd bet that if all good experiences were created into threads they would far outweigh the bad ones. Happy people are out riding and enjoying their bike while pissed off people are making threads about how crappy their experience is. Now I think it's good to hear about bad dealer experiences and bike issues to educate all of us but I don't see how this means that Ducati sucks.

I've had my Tri for over 2 years and have put 6k miles with long and short trip and also track days with very little issues. I had an issue with the paint when the dealer installed he DP screen, a loose ground wire, I had to bleed the clutch twice, and I just lost my first bolt on the exhaust cover. I would say that if I had the serious issues with the bike and dealer as others have had my thoughts would be different and I would be angry with Ducati and my experience but it wouldn't mean Ducati sucks as a whole. This of course is just my view and opinion based on my experience.
