Does anyone have experience with the ducati data analyzer? Everytime I go out for a track session I have to turn it on. It doesn't seem to have the ability to remember to stay on when the bike is restarted. Just a PITA to go through the menu and turn on everytime, wondering if Im missing something.

nope same issue here,
its a pain, but that's how the system is set up, maybe to prevent inadvertently recoding yourself doing something you shouldn't have on the road etc.
i.e active selection

I have used it on 2 tracks now and I like the representation on the area where I develop, or weakness, ie gear selection.

don't forget to unplug it after each use as well.

I've left it plugged in for a few days and came back to a bike with a dead battery, no idea why but a few people on this forum have attributed it to the DDA stick being plugged in and draining the battery, even with the bike switched off

I'm not 100% sure but I think that firmware updates a year or two back have fixed the battery draining thing (if it was actually an issue as I often forgot to remove it and never had a problem).

The system as a whole is certainly not up to the quality of the dedicated data systems like AIM, 2D, etc. The software is particularly unintuitive and does not seem to split out your laps for you in an easy fashion so it's very difficult to use it to compare different runs. One of the guys who worked on the software is on the forum and is very friendly and helpful. I just think it needs more time put into development to make it a more useable system that can compare to the low end AIM / 2D / Motec etc. At the moment it seems more of a sales pitch item than a genuinely useful bit of kit for people interested in analysing data.

Can't be really fixed with a firmware update. It's a design "flaw" when Ducati decided to but Vbat directly to the DIAG port. The only fix I found was to put a little piece of electronics between the DDA stick and the DIAG port that switches on power supply only if the bike is switched on. I did that on my race pani, works like a charm.

Thanks guys. Yea, i found out the hardway when I left the dda on the bike and killed the battery. But sad to find out I need to turn it on manually for each new run....ugh...o well. Figured I'd ask

You'd think they'd be able to do a firmware update at least for the system to remember the DDA. It's so annoying to turn on each time I go out on a hot lap. At least it remembers all my other settings.

I've noticed the dash won't recognize the DDA even while left plugged in and the bike turned off and on again. I have to turn the bike on (just the ignition), plug in the DDA, and then check the settings to make sure the 'DDA' selection is not greyed out, and then turn the DDA feature on. Sort of a pain in the ass. Anyone else experience this? I ride a 2012 1199S

Always recognised at key on when left attached between track sessions.
Just needs to be selected each time before riding.

Have left attached for 3 days at track without noting any battery issues.

DDA+ on pani R.

Hello there
What is the difference between DDA and DDA+?

is Ducati still producing DDA or now it’s just DDA+

Cause I’ve just checked with my dealer to order that and they told me it’s not the DDA+ but just the DDA and DDA+ it’s not available.

i have the feeling he doesnt know the difference.
