Alas, I've been told by my dealer here in CA that they can't supply the Akra exhaust because of CA emissions BS... d'oh. And if the exhaust is only available through DP, going to have to order from an out of state dealer. So irritating.

Or save the $5K, buy BSTs. Thinking plan B will have a greater impact, and save $1K.

if the wheels are in fact the same as the 2013R wheels, then i think the BST advantage may be lost - i do remember learning the weights were really close from the 2013R to BST....does anyone have the weights ?

2015R will have forged aluminum, but no weights listed anywhere that i've seen

The weight difference between the BST's and the Forged wheels (S, Tricolore and R) is only a few hundred grams less on the BST's, but one must take into consideration that the CF wheels have less weight in the outer circumference where it really counts.

ahhhh, yes...a few hundred grams :)...a few denotes 300....300 is 154 shy of a 1lb....i'm just wondering who knows the real numbers

i've got BST's on another bike, and swore i would always install them on anything else i ever bought....but the numbers (from what i remember vaguely) were not significant enough for me when i get the 2013R....just wondering if anyone knows the specifics

Clay....you're in South Africa...get BST on the phone and get some answers :)

I bought my BST's through my dealer (Sandton Ducati). It's Sales Manager Gavin Pietersen brokered the deal. I could never get the weight difference from him. He is now the Sales Manager at BST and perhaps you have better luck. Here is his e mail addy: [email protected] .

dat flat green torque curve.

badass!

I can get the DP Akra full system for USD $4,600 shipped...possibly a bit less if ordering a bunch. They're not going to be available until late March at the earliest though.

you can get a full akra for 3...then add power commander and custom tune for an extra 6 and you save a grand and weight

If Ducati Performance did sign a deal with Akra then you won't be able to buy the 1299 system from anywhere except them and they will essentially dictate the price at that point. We will have to wait to find out I guess.

The Full Akra Evolution Line exhaust for the 1199 is dimensionally the same as the full Akra from DP for the 1299/1299S except the Up-Map Stick.

My dealer "Swears" the head pipes and mounting points are different for the new system. I'll be pissed if I ordered this exhaust only to find out it don't fit! lol

I think the mounting points are different as I was told the same. Also will the header pipe fit

This was posted by TJ99, product manager for the Panigale, Diavel and Streetfighter. In another thread he was asked if the 1199 Akra exhaust would fit. The slips I beleive are different but full system should be compatible.

Hi again guys.

So, I was wrong. I was told previously that the exhausts between 1199 and 1299 were not compatible, but after pressing the head project engineer further, they will physically fit fine.

To use a 1299 or SL exhaust on the 1199, you'll have to also use the vertical cylinder heat shield, the lower of the right fairing (it's got a different cutout for the larger diameter exhaust tube). There will also be minor issues with passenger pegs, and he said something about drilling a new hole/making a new mounting point on the subframe. Of course, then you'll also need a custom map as the SL one won't be good.

Sorry for my previous misleading info, hope that helps.
