If i understand well, with the Quick Shift System i can keep always the throttle open when i changing-up my speed on the gearbox ???

I never had a system like this one...anyone can confirm this information for me ?

(P.S: Excuse my poor english....i am french....)

Yup. Basically you keep the throttle wide open and just snick up the next gear.

No clutch, no throttle roll off, so no loss of momentum or speed!

Works best at high rpm and only on the way up.

Not intended for use around town for slow lazy gear changes, more for red-mist going for it moments ........ or the traffic light drag race ;)

I was also wondering something about the DQS.

I am a daily commuter, and as such, I have to do some kilometers in town. Not a big deal, as in France, we do lane splitting so I am never stuck between two cars.

In fact, I sully slalom between cars at low speeds, and as such, am often using the lever to modulate my gear (dunno if it makes sense to you). Is DQS still allow that ?

DQS is only of use during hard and constant acceleration and for up shifts. You'll need to be doing 50+ mph in first gear, and plenty more in second, to use it effectively. Its not going to be effective in or around other traffic, unless you fancy a trip to the police station. Quick shifters are really for the track use, but they're also fun for the traffic light drag race as xbox said - just dont get carried away and keep sucking up too many gears!

The clutch will still work with our without DQS. Just because it is turned on in the menus doesn't mean you can't use the clutch like normal, just means, if you try to upshift at wide open throttle without using the clutch, its not going to work.

Think of it as a very short ignition cut out at the moment of shifting. Much faster than you could do with just a tiny throttle roll off or minimum clutch use.

The quick shifter allows the next gear to slip in due to the force on the shift lever and the short ignition cut given by the sensor in the quick shifter and the relaxation in the drivetrain.

If you still have your other bike, try it out:
accelerate really hard, then, when you want to shift, don't use the clutch, instead apply a slight pressure on the shift lever, then do a really short cut on the throttle, while pushing the gear in harder, but get back on the throttle immediately. hard to believe or imagine, play it several times in your mind, exercise it without the motor running and then get on the road.

since i learned it, i used this technique the most of the time. it's fun and won't harm the gearbox, if practiced right.
(read it here: only available in german: BOOK: DIE OBERE HAELFTE - Louis - Motorcycle & Leisure)
best regards,

Phil

I knew this technique, but was more worried about the fact I would still have a use of the clutch. And it seems my clutch will still work, so I am happy. This is gonna be a killer bike...

Quickshifter is new to me but a friend on a 1198 said one of the benefits is that the bike doesny bob up and down during the shift ie suspension is better... any comments

Your friend is correct, the bike is no where near as disturbed by the loss of drive, then sharp reapplication of power.

Now, is is better. Well yes it can be beneficial, say if your upshifting when cranked over a bit, or maybe on a less than smooth surface.
