Didn't Harley-Davidson kill Erik Buell's company, Oh boy, not good for Ducati. Harley will steal their technology to make the hogs faster, then kill the company. Sad day if this is true.

Harley scrapped Buell Motor Company following the '08 crash (they still own the rights to the name). Erik Buell then started Erik Buell Racing (EBR). EBR went under for various reasons. The biggest being dealership networking and Hero MotoCorp screwing them over.

Plus the earth will crash into the sun, and we'll all be dead, so there's that also.

Harley will use Ducati profits to prop themselves up. Ducati R&D will suffer, Ducati will suffer.......

Ducati is ......

Ducati's profits are a PITTANCE compared to Harley's. Harley had $6B (that's BILLION in sales in 2016), Ducati had €731M (that's Million), so roughly 8 times as large. For PROFIT (i.e. NET INCOME) you're looking at $692M for Harley, and €51M for Ducati. You can do the math on that one, but clearly spending €1.5B to buy a business that is going to drop €51M to your bottom line is not going to "prop anything up". Harley sells 260,000 bikes a year, vs 55,000 Ducatis, for reference.

Glad I got my duc before the sale that's all I can say

We'll see if I buy another one in the future

Ahh whatever I'll still buy another Ducati thier so friggin sexy LOL

Well I guess it wont be so bad with a new model designation.

They will make it the Duca-Harley " Superpesanti " model.

Comes with a free oil absorbent mat for the oil leaks.

NOLA

very true. But they do have a Cult followers...and probably eve more than Ducati

But guys who "drive" a Harley aren't interested in "riding" a real motorbike like a sport bike etc. I might sound biased, but I know many motorcycle owners who own multiple motorcycles, MX, sport, adventure, nakeds etc. and the strange thing is, not one of them owns a Harley or is even interested.
So Harley might have a big following, but the remainder of the industry as a whole , has surely got a larger following.
Maybe if Harley play their cards right and don't loose the allure of Ducati, they can build the brand.
What is Harley going to grow their current market with ? They already own it !
