Just like the lot of you I thoroughly enjoy my overpowered motorcycle.

BUT::
I am hoping Ducati builds a bike to compete directly with the 660 Aprilia.
Not only will it be a nice lightweight cheater bike in club racing, but will bump up the competition above the SV.

Hope you are reading this Bologna.

i've contemplated removing a cylinder off my 1199 and run it as supermono LWT killer.

then i gave up drinking.

:D

Yes I’d have to agree, a lower powered sweet handing sport Ducati is a beautiful thing but a thing of the past. That’s why I went with an 899 on a weight loss program to play around on because there just isn’t another option for me.

Agreed. I loved the tossability of my Monster 696 and it was much more easy to use more of that bike’s capabilities than my 959’s on the street. As the adage goes, more fun to ride a slower bike quickly than a quick bike slowly.

I think Ducati is treated the Supersport as their "lightweight" option. Emissions strangle 600cc bikes nowadays, so there isnt a lot of money in developing new ones.

I don't think so. Roads are the same, legislation is getting tougher ...
it may be in a few years that the 200hp class is a thing of the past.
I, personally... right now I have a lot of fun on a 27hp sumo. I'm feeling like 16, sitting on a beast compared to my 50cc.
so, if money were not a problem I would spend it in a 2v v2 with 125 hp=kg => ducati demon
but, even with less hp it doubles the price of the aprillia :(

Found a different way to use my R and plan to do it a lot next year. Set it to Low Power/Max DTC/DWC mode and went chasing after my kid on his Ninja 300 in Novice. It was pretty darn fun, if I had basically any lean it would not allow more throttle, made me work on corner entry a lot more without the fear of balking someone's lap in Expert. The slower pace gave plenty of time to review corners and come up with different plans of attack. Can't wait until he bumps to Novice and then the real chase begins!
