Hey guys, I have been contemplating getting new wheels. I have the base model V4 Panigale and was trying to decide on the following.

OZ Motorbike GASS RS-A Forged Aluminum Wheels

BST Rapid Tek Carbon Fiber 5 Split Spoke Wheel

MARCHESINI Forged Magnesium Wheels

I put the OZ wheels there as I was thinking that this might be best bang for the buck over stock wheels. Then I start to think, If I am going to spend over 2k on OZ wheels, I might as well spend a bit more and get BST or Marchesini. I do all street riding, no track and where when I commute to work, there are some crappy roads , potholes etc. For those of you that have had experience with the above mentioned wheels, any thoughts on which wheel I should lean more towards?

OZ wheels look best from your list of wheels. Less worry about potholes n such. Not to say carbon n mag are weak wheels but to spend another 1k+ to save another couple pounds isn't necessary. You should notice enough difference between your base wheels and Oz, save money and have the better of the 3 looking wheels. Should be an easy decision.

I put the GASS RS-As on my 2018 base V4. They're sweet.

if you can get a set of V4 or 1299 forged marchesini's they will be a huge upgrade, they turn up here for 1250 (bargain) to 1500 a set from time to time. Im sure the others will be great whatever you get but its pretty hard to beat bang for buck on the stockers. Cast wheels are like riding a steamroller

speaking from personal experience buddy? I'm considering moving from base model 1299 wheels to V4s wheels...i'm finding only 1lbs difference...will i even notice that? the S model wheels are all forged aluminum, vs what is the word? CAST aluminum for the Base ??

Its not just the overall weight, its where the weight is, also there is a lot more that half a kg difference. The cast wheels are boat anchors, its like night and day!

thank you @Paul G !!
and further investigation seems to show about 2.5lbs in front, and a tad over 3lbs for rear...so about 5.5 lbs total reduction over base.

you know, after driving R1s and CBRs for years and years, i think the cast wheels (base) are still lighter than what the jap's install on their base models....but you know us..always pushing for more.

anyways, you have confirmed what i was leaning towards and i'm looking at a pristine set at $1400... keep it classy my man
