Hello all. New member (thx❤️) not sure if there’s a thread on this? Was wondering how comfortable/uncomfortable is the new to me V4? I’m 5’7” tall and was wondering is bike geared for taller riders? The bike I seldom ride is really uncomfortable. I get it’s a “race bike” but just wanted a feel for what shorter riders feel.

Cheers,
P.S.
I ride a MV F4 312rr
910s
910r
1090rr Corsa

The V4 is a tall bike. If you have a short inseam you might have issues keeping the bike upright when stopped at a light to get both feet to touch the pavement. Just go to a dealer and sit on one or go test ride one.

Haha 😂. No cooler than my f4 in town. In Toronto they do not give test rides. I would have to get them to take off stand so I can sit on it. The F4 is tall as well. Pretty much tip toe. Thx for the info ❤️

5’7” as well. (Beware of @andyb, he’s fond of small members).

The ergonomics of the V4 is not ideal for shorter riders but it’s doable. You’ll be on the tip toes at stops and reach is longer than an Aprilia. Rearsets will help getting the knees up into the tank. If you plan on riding it on the track, the tank takes some getting used to as you lean off the bike. The crossing forearm can get hung up on the tank

These do have a few niggling faults. They use fuel like your freeloader neighbor drinks your beer, maintenance costs are high (like any proper mistress I guess) and they'll take the hair off your nuts if you get caught in traffic in the summer. But all simply disappears every time you spool the motor up. Just ripping. And seductive. You have now imperiled your license to a degree to which you don't yet understand.

Thx for all the info. Maybe I put on some platform shoes. That should help no?

Platform shoes would be really groovey. Add in some bell bottom riding pants too!

Seat is a bit high, I have a 29” inseam and can’t get both feet to touch the ground.

Stay off of the DVP and Gardiner at rush hour during summer or the heat on your thighs becomes painful.

Here's the ergonomics of the various 1000s

Honda has the lowest seat height and tank profile. Yamaha has the shortest wheelbase . BMW has the most upright riding position. Ducati is pretty stretched out in all regards.

If/when the new CBR1000RRRRRRRR-R makes it to the US, I'll probably pick one of those up.

Interesting work. I've head the 44 Teeth guys complain that the Honda felt tight. Based on your graphic, I think it has to do with a more closed hip and knee angle. It would be interesting to see the same, per bike, with an averaged stick figure as to limb length, overall height etc.

If you can wait till next year the Honda will come out w one more R 😍

Good idea. Here's what the simplified rider triangles would look like (values are just relative)

Neevesy says go for the R1 (goto 31 mins). Best all round track day bike

well they don’t stop during a race. You know on the start though I’ll watch to see what he’s doing. I bet they lowered the seat somehow by using a thin pad and maybe even lowered the bike itself. I’ve got a 32 inch inseam. When I stop I can put both feet down but not quite level. I usually just put my left foot down and tilt the bike a bit

Don't they have ride height devices which lower it for launch, or is that only MotoGP?
