He didn’t post all of the conversation. He 100% knew about the JB weld on the front fairing. He confirms it here.

To your point, this is the only evidence you will need to present to PayPal because it did seem like these issues were pretty obvious for the seller to have noticed. If there was no JB weld, seller should have immediately said "That's not true! There was no welding on the parts." But from the screenshots, seller does say "I wasn't aware..."
Lol for me, when I'm buying used parts from a stranger online I make sure I do my due diligence and do a little "Google PI" on the person.

Here's an idea. Between you 2, seller why not accept to see more pictures of all the damaged parts from the buyer. If you see things that are clearly damaged either from your packaging or may not have been aware of, then accept a return. ESPECIALLY if the box you sent the buyer to wasn't a 50" box like you stated. Buyer, if seller accepts damages, then pay for the return shipping yourself. This way you'll only take a little hit on shipping charges, but you won't lose all of your money. And buyer will get parts back, maybe have them fixed, then can re-sell in better condition(s).

I'm starting to have the feeling that seller should be okay with this. Most people that are parting out the bikes due to some type of accident have more than likely gotten a check from their insurance already. Purchased the bike back for a small fraction of the cost, and are now selling the additional parts for profit. A v4 S is a newer machine, and I'm sure the insurance gave back a sweet offer. I could be wrong here, but I don't have the time to research why the seller is putting up his OEM parts for sale.

Also you fail to mention how he says in one post the fairings have 15 miles on them and then tells me after I receive them that they have 411 miles on them? I think this is very telling of the type of seller we are dealing with here...

Lol your math isn't right here, but to your point, the mileage he claimed IS off. 411mi - 368mi at tear down is 43 miles. So, he forgot to add the 28mil remaining.

But I hope that you see that you are also in the wrong here, more on the side of naitivity. From the start if you believed the seller when he said "new", then you need to search online for something along the lines of "tips for purchasing online from private sellers." The fact that he took them off the bike is NOT new, they are USED parts. But I believe the seller did post, "like new." This for me is a red flag as well when I see people list things like this. It's like going to a dealer where they advertise a car as "Certified pre owned." Really though, it's a used car that has gone through inspection tests (of the dealer), but gives the consumer the illusion that it's "new" when it's not. So you fell for this if you clearly thought he was selling you new parts...

My bike has never been in an accident.

I can send a picture of shipping label on the box, but he has already admitted that the box was 15” x 15” in messages so I dont think that’s in dispute currently.

Perhaps I was a little naive, but he initially seemed like a upstanding guy, though I like to think the best in people.

For clarification my math is not off. If you look at the first post on this listing or the screen shot of it that I posted you can see that he claims the fairings have only 15 miles on them. He then turned around and told me Tuesday that the fairings actually have 411 miles on them. So there is a 396 mile discrepancy there!

As you suggested here is the picture of the box with shipping label and tape measure. I have nothing to hide, I’m the one being scammed here.

This is a start. But I would highly suggest taking a picture of the shipping label. Taking a picture of a box is just a box and leaves skepticism for viewers.

Selling a like new V4 S faring set. Came off the bike with 15 miles on the bike. Pay way less than retail. If you have questions please feel free to ask. Shipping is not included in the price, I am asking $2200 obo for the entire set.

He says here in his listing “Selling a like new V4 S faring set. Came off the bike with 15 miles on the bike.”

Then 2 days ago he says “ I bought the bike with 368 miles on it and tear down began at 411 and that is the current mileage.”

The same day he also acknowledges the JBweld and swirl marks as coming from Ducati. He says, “The front nose(referring to the broken mount with JBweld holding it on) that is how it was received from Ducati when I bought the bike, again the swirl marks you speak of again came from Ducati, as for the broken tab, that had to have happened durning shipping. These parts were removed from the day I bought the bike and stored. Might I add bike was manufactured in late 2017, were talking about parts that are 3 years old. Swirl marks in the paint didn’t notice but can be buffed out pretty easily.”

This is the reason I do not buy used stuff. Hope this works out for you guys.

I have purchased quite a few things on here from a number of sellers and have NEVER had an issue with any other sellers. I have even made a few friends. I honestly didn’t think this transaction with Dallarosajm would be any different. I contacted him and attempted to come to a resolution with him first as I wanted to handle this directly, but he declined and thought I should bring it up here to make any potential future buyers aware of the situation.

Yea, it's great to try to work it out. But you guys have now stepped into the realm of dealing with this via 3rd party. You and seller will be able to present evidence to support your arguments now with PayPal.

I think someone here stated earlier that "PayPal is always on the side of the buyer." But this is NOT true. Happened to me a few years ago selling a computer part. Guy said it didn't work, and PayPal gave him the win. However, after going back through all our communications I was able to find him saying that he attempted to install it, and that's how I was able to appeal. I was able to prove from that comment that he could have damaged it in attempting to install it himself. I won the appeal, and PayPal rejected his return.

Good luck to you both, always 2 sides to a story...

I haven’t actually initiated the claim yet, only made a dispute because I’m was hoping Dallarosajm would do the right thing and we could find some way to work this out.

It's funny that the 3% transaction fee is automatically taken from the seller's portion on paypal. The buyer is often the one that files a claim and should pay the 3% transaction fee (which includes buyer protection).

Yes it’s automatically taken, but he didn’t pay for the transaction fees. I paid an extra $25 to cover all those fees so he would receive the amount we agreed to after PayPal took their cut.
