DZUS Fastener Length for ABS Fairings

What length fasteners will get the right tension for the ABS plastic?

It looks like it'll be 12 or 14mm.
 
Well we know it's not 13 now.

I ordered 14mm, but haven't had a chance to put them on yet. The holes will need to be drilled out, fyi.

So, I called and talked to their tech (Jason) who develops them. He happened to be staying late and unfortunately answered the phone after hours. They don't have ones specifically for the 1199 because they've been unable to get a test bike. He "thinks" that 14mm would fit, but doesn't know. However, I offered you up as a sacrificial lamb to have them look at your bike, which would take a few hours. They're located in Phoenix, so wasn't sure if you were still back east.
 
Awww, no not anymore. I wish... I moved to NC. I ....... HATE THE EAST COAST, BIBLE BELT, SOUTHERN ........ that is the east coast. Not sure if I even got across how much I hate this place.

Oh, too bad. I thought that was temp. Anyway, if I was on the fence about how you felt about where you are... It's pretty clear now.

I felt like I was in the prison lunch line when I went to the alcohol beverage control store. .... was overpriced, .... selection, and not open on Sundays. Yeah sweet, if I want to buy liquor I have to go to what amounts to a welfare office of booze run by the state.
 
PS THey didn't have my Campari or Jean Marx XO.

Oh but don't worry, plenty of Remmy and Cognac.

Anyone ever figure out what length are needed? Was working on a friends 748 the other day and damn Dzus made the job easy.
 
don't think its the dzus fastener length you have to worry about. Its the dzus tab receptacle. Not sure they can go over the sections on the engine where the panels attach to as they are kind of large compared to the OEM connectors.
 
lemme check mine for my track fairings tonight.

i'll post pics and the length.
