… When was the last time we've seen a Ducati high side or lose of traction control in MotoGP…

Last month. 🤷‍♂️

And once my yard ornament is back up and running, I'll be sure to report back to this fine group with a gopro video, until then I'll let this pot of water unboil itself and let you girls get back to your pampered S

And to add another reason to remove the rear wheel speed sensor, and this would require software update - Is wheel speed not in direct correlation to gearbox output? If the wheel is locked, the gearbox is no longer moving. Gear sensor movement is tracked and can be ratioed relative to wheel movement, without a rear speed sensor. It doesn't matter if the clutch is pulled in, because who pulls the clutch to cut engine power in the middle of turn? No one. The steering input, bike weight, and engine braking is what guides you through the turn. If you've missed a downshift going into turn, find yourself in neutral, and lose road feedback you know what I mean. The gearbox is fully engaged going into the turn, mid turn, and exit of turn. That's why the rear wheel speed sensor can be removed from the algorithm.

I haven't really considered the fact that the rear wheel speed can be determined by *either* the RPMs or the ABS ring.

But I wonder, doesn't the standard ECU programming already include a function to disable the rear ABS? (I have a V2 si don't know) Or the OP it's trying to save a few ounces (nothing wrong with that, it's just me I'd prefer to keep it).

There’s no such thing as an “ABS ring.” Maybe you’re referring to the phonic ring That the Rear wheel speed reads?

Either way, if you want to turn rear ABS off on a 22+ V4 just set the ABS to 1. Bob’s your uncle.
