i just got a new 2013 1199 tricolore, when i first brought the bike home i got an E lock message on the display. i was unable to do anything with the bike at that point. the dealer came picked up the bike, told me it was a loose wire and it was fixed. it has since happened again. is anyone else experiencing this and if so, if and how did you get it resolved?

Never heard of this...... This seems very odd that a single wire would cause this.

I've never heard this happen before, did the bike do anything else wrong?

If it's a pin code error it might be that the ECU doesn't recognize your key. if you haven't set your own pin code it might display this error. Seems a little strange to be from a "loose" wire and might be an ECU/dash issue.

Completely agreed!

i haven't been able to do anything yet, i got the bike in January, i tried to start it the next day and got the E lock message. i did read in the manual about setting up a pin but wasn't able to. the dealer has had my bike since then. i figured while they had it i would get a few things done to the bike and wasnt to worried about getting to ride it because its been cold as hell here. but when i went up last week to pick the bike up i tried to start it and E lock message again. so there it sits at the dealer. i was just trying to see if this was some kind of factory defect or just bad luck. thanks for the replies. when it gets sorted out i will post about it.

thanks
