A friend of mine has a V4R, and do do I. Both with a few mods here and there.

In Spain earlier this year (on track), his dash lit up with every error, and wouldn't run. Back at the pits, all fine. Two laps in, same thing. Swapped out the Ducati sidestand eliminator, ran fine.

Exactly the same thing happened to my V4R last weekend. Apparently the eliminator over heats from the proximity of the engine.

A work around is to attach a magnet over the sensor where the sidestand sits, which closes the switch. You'll notice your sidestand has a magnet on the side.

its A Hall effect switch. A somewhat sophisticated solution to a simple application. I have had 2 failures with plugs. Now back to a somewhat modified stock switch. Somewhat of a dangerous situation if it kills the bike.
