I thought that I just read in the manual that EBC 1 is the maximum engine breaking and is the default setting. From there you can adjust it to less engine breaking all the way to off. It sounds like it can help you if your coming into the corner too hot. Right?

OK, I know I got my Tric real early, but a number of factors have prevented me from doing any long rides, so instead I've just been grabbing 45mins/50km here and there.

Anyhow, now that I'm getting more familiar with the thing, I've started experimenting with settings, since I'd left it in Sport-mode up until now

Last ride I went back to Wet-mode with 195-Lo. Freaking disaster. I hated it. Way to soft and lots of weight transfer back and forth. Yuk!!

So, today I had the opportunity to take a 2.5 hour glorious ride, in quiet mountains with numerous switchbacks and hairpins. After some very useful advice from a forum member, I opted for the following:

Sport-mode. 195-Hi. EBC-2.

Wow, talk about a transformation. Absolutely loved it.

Increasing EBC made a massive difference. Was more like a V4, without the usual massive v-twin engine breaking, which I can find a little unsettling.

Biggest surprise was 195-Hi, which up until now I thought was a macho-man setting  But no, the bike pulled much cleaner and harder from low-rpm, which was great for firing between 3rd gear hairpins.

Taken me a while, but I'm now scratching the surface a little more and realising the massive performance and potential this thing has.

I'm amazed and happy, since progress and confidence building had been slow up until now.

Wow :)

Glad to hear you are enjoying it now Xbox.
I was so used to the engine breaking of a twin, but didnt like the lock up so much in 1st gear, then I put a slipper clutch in the 996 and loved it. Now with this bike you can try it anyway you like it. I did try it in 3 the other day on some twisties and it did run on in one corner:D

Once you find something you like, keep that in sports, Then play with race and wet while you are riding, if none of them work then you can go back to Sport with a flick of the switch and enjoy your ride.....go home and adjust race and wet to some different setting for you next ride.....This is what I love about this bike.

"Off" is full engine braking, basically it's the same as not having EBC on the bike at all. Level 1 is a little less engine braking, Level 2 is quite a bit less engine braking, and Level 3 is a lot less engine braking. It's a racing technology trickled down and intended to help with aggressive cornering by keeping the chassis more settled under hard braking and corner entry. I didn't like it at first, because I've become accustomed to engine braking having raced/tracked twins for quite a few years. But after getting used to it, I have it set on Level 3 now and I like it.

I tried the 195 high with EBC 2 and didn't smoothen out all that much, though was happy to see the 195 high was not crazy. I went back to low and moved to EBC 3. THAT was much better (particularly for my commute setting where comfort is a bit more of a goal). Still plenty of engine brake. I'm coming from the RSV4, the V4 didn't have the crazy ass engine braking of the v twin, so I like the softer feel and still has the engine braking I'm used to. I'll play around with 195 high on this setting.

I LOVE how adjustable this is. I'm sure it will take some time playing with combinations of the settings, but nice to be able to fine tune the feel.

Anybody notice any different feels from varying traction control settings?

I have messed with a bunch of different combos of EBC/ABS/DTC settings and I finally settled on EBC 2 / ABS 2 / DTC 3 or 4 (depending on road conditions).

EBC Rundown

EBC tech on this bike is AWESOME. In my track experience with this bike, less than EBC 2 still lets the back end get squirrely when coming hot into a corner. I haven't messed with EBC 3 too much as I still like a bit of engine breaking to help shed speed when coming into high speed corners and EBC 3 makes the bike almost feel like a two-stroke.

ABS Rundown

ABS 2 is perfect for me as I don't like to slide the back end out with the rear brake and ABS lets me romp on both brakes and keep the wheels moving. The ABS on the bike is so subtle and effective that I can't imagine riding a bike without that quality level of ABS, on or off the track.

DTC Rundown

I set the bike to DTC 5 right off the show floor when I first got it so I could get used to the power and the way the bike put it to the ground. After a little time on the track I dropped it to DTC as I found that DTC 5 was intervening a LOT even when there really wasnt a chance for the back to kick out. DTC 3 is really a setting just for the track that allows me to get maximum drive out of corners while still having peace of mind that I'm not going to highside if I give it too much stick. Less than 3 and the DTC allows more and more rear spin and since I am not full on racing the bike, it's not really necessary to let the bike put that much power down.

I'm only a weekend canyon/track warrior, but the other day I ran to my buddy's house within the city and placed the EBC on level 3 which is WAY smoother and less on/off pressure on the wrists. A must if you commute unless you want whip lash and sore wrists.....and your nutz racking of the tank every two seconds in traffic

My bull terrier (see photo to the left) enjoys it as well when we're riding 2 up

Good morning everyone!
I need help, I installed the Power Commander V at 1199 S already with Racing map Ducati and I can not hit the map, any numeral place and when I reduce and accelerate the message, ENGINE on the panel, only when I leave the map all zero , this message does not appear on the panel.
Did any of the members have or could send me a map for me ??
Or guide me how to program the map?
I thank you all.
