I'm putting on the motoholders subframe. Should I keep the engine side covers? Will it make a huge difference? I think the bike looks better without them.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I run without and don't have any issue with heat... plus you can't hide that beautiful engine with ugly plastic covers...

I never had them and rode one with them and to me it wasn't worth hiding the beauty for minimal to no heat improvement. The heat never really was an issue for me anyway

Here's an old photo where you can see the beauty without the heat shield nonsense

I ran the covers for the first 3000 miles on my "R", then removed them. I didn't notice any difference in heat even during the summer here at 100+ degree F.

There's a time when you are at a stop on a sunny hot day and the heat to your inner thighs is just crazy without the covers. I had them on my Tricolore, and when I bought the R without the covers it was very noticeable. I move around a bit to stop the concentrated heat to a particular spot to deal with it. I put them back on.

The Motoholdings has an open design compared to stock, so the side covers might do very little in preventing the heat from coming to you.
