Got back yesterday fro my first tour on the Panigale, left 2 weeks ago and took in belgium-Germany-Austria-Slovenia-Croatia-Italy-Switzerland-France and then home. Approx 2900 miles and wait for it..........she was perfect no issues at all. Tank range was between 100-110 miles and she used about 500 mls of oil. I used the stock seat as i dodn't like the comfort seat just had it recovered instead to make it a bit more grippier. The tyres are shagged now but at least they lasted.
On croatia if you ever get the chance to do the Coast road you must it is superb believe me !!!!. The road surfaces can be a bit iffy which the pani's suspension didn't like but that is seperate issue, and on the german roads once you open her up she weaves a bit at high speed !!.
She got admiring looks all through Europe, even managed to see another Pani on the island of KRK in Croatia.

well done to you !!
that looks like you guys have had a great trip
big thumbs up !!

I'm impressed/envious, looks like a great trip.

How did you get on with the Ducati tank bag? Is that the Panigale specific one? Looks much larger than in the marketing photos.

The bag itself is a super bit of kit though now ive cleaned the bike it has left some small scratches on the tank !! the other problem is where it fastens onto the seat fixing point the ring in the strap is too thick and doesn't allow the seat bolt to get enough purchase on the thread thus it kept coming loose. I forced a hole through the fabric itself to get the bolt through and this solved the problem. Very surprising how much stuff i could cram into it.
8 out of 10 i would give it.
but at £235 it's too expensive really i would imagine when bagster bring something out you'll get a tank cover and a bag for that price !!!

how tyre pressure did you have and how looks your tyres after trip?
I'm also interesting about tank bag - is it original Ducati?
Nice trip and I agree with croatian cost roads!

Yeah sorry it is the DP tank bag. We blasted through belgium and Germany etc to get to Croatia pretty quick so the tyres have squared off badly but they lasted the whole trip so can't complain.

Don't like the look of the bagster tank covers, it worries me that they'll just be grit magnets that cause hidden damage to the paint underneath, but then I've never seen one in the flesh. Would putting a piece of the non-slip matting under the tank bag help. Looks like you have some of this stuff under your tail pack. Would a longer bolt fix the attachment issue?

I agree that £235 is unresonably expensive, per most DP stuff, but it looks big enough that I could get away with just this tank bag for shorter trips and that's attractive. I don't like tail packs and only use them as a last resort. They make getting on/off a pain and do nothing for the weight balance of the bike. Also I can't see when they're trying to escape or move and become likely to foul the rear wheel.

I have used the bagster stuff on all my bikes and think they're really good but thats just my opinion. yes putting some more of the grippy material under the tank bag would solve the scratching problem though they are only small and will polish out with a bit of effort.
A longer screw would also solve the problem, unfortunately too late for me to sort out, but it wasn't a major problem more a hindrance.
I normally put a ventura kit on my bikes but had to use a tail bag for this trip as you can see in the pics. I agree i was paranoid also it would come loose esecially at speed and seeing all my pants flying down the road wouldn't be a pretty site.
But overall everything did it's job really well !!!!

Very impressive trip! I don't think my aging body could handle the Pani on that duration:D. Looks like you had a blast though!

Great Pics! Really pleased you had no issues with the bike and you wear the Scorpion lid as me!
My bike awaits me at the Dealer! Two more weeks overseas, can't wait!!
