I know there is lots of mention of hot start issues and the like, and the most common response is to remove the EVAP canister. My question is, are any of you still running the EVAP canister and NOT having any issues? Premature on my part as my bike is still about a week out, but I'm trying to be a step ahead on a lot of issues and remedies I've learned about on this forum. Any help would be appreciated.

2020 with 7766 miles with the canister installed.

Maybe a handful of times the bike hasn't started cold first hit in neutral. Cycling the key and letting the system prime for a second time has always resulted in a start on the second attempt. There is always a stall or two after a 'service' reflash when pulling in the clutch to a stop.

I have never had a hot start problem.

I didn't have any problems with mine until it was about 98F-100F outside. At low speed, under 60 MPH the bike would surge and be very choppy when not much throttle was being used. Opening the gas cap and allowing the vapor to escape fixed it until the vapor built up again.

The gas in your region, temp and maybe even altitude could effect this. If you have a problem, its a very easy fix.

My bike (2020 V4S stock with canister still) cut-out a few times at random occasion. I realized it was right after I filled up. I stopped filling up all the way to the top. it hasn't happened again. Never had starting issues.

Trip duration and humidity may come into play.

Short rides may not pull enough though the canister to 'dry' the charcoal.

Humidity may pre-soak the granules to the point they ineffective.

Most cars have a liquid/vapor separator higher than the fuel level so unless there is something to that effect inside the tank, I can the canister becoming saturated.

I checked mine last night while cleaning the swamp out of the lower radiator....It was light so i assume dry.

My 2021 V2 has not had any hot start issues. Granted, I only have around 1400 miles on it so far. The one problem I have had was that it stalled on me twice when I was at a stoplight, but those were around 200-300 miles, and I have not had the problem since then.

Never removed mine I've had no problems with it. I've only got about 1200 KM's on it. Stalled once at a light around 200 KM mark but other than that one time, no issues.
