Exhaust flapper and CEL ?

I searched and read a bunch of posts but have found conflicting answers. Does anyone know for sure if the entire flapper motor system can be removed without a CEL? I ask because I put a racebody on and ditched the servo but also had a bunch of stuff apart, and now I have a CEL. I would consider buying one of the eliminator units off eBay, I just don't want to waste the money if not needed.

I think your issue is elsewhere. I have the akrapovic system which obviously ditches the flapper and no CEL.

But was it reflashed or other changes when Akra was installed?

Nothing. No tune yet. Installed and started riding. No CEL.

Did you remove the headlights from the bike to put race fairings on?

What did you do with the air sensor on the headlight itself? That will cause a CEL as well.

I am held up on the aftermarket duct and am molding one up now. In the intern I mounted it in the fabricated stay about 4" in side it. Maybe the air velocity isn't enough with.out restricted ducting? I had hoped it was deep enough to get some velocity. You may be onto something, thanks
