Guys,

Looks like the exhaust flapper valve is stuck in the closed position. I've not done any mods. I'd like to disconnect but it looks like the cable won't retract into the tube. Where is the other end? Can anyone show me how I might be able to fix this myself?

A servo, a cable and a spring loaded flapper that defaults to open.

If the mechanics of this setup are less than obvious, I would suggest its dealer time.

As for the other end, it's gonna be about 30cm away from the other end.

Mine was messed up back before i put on the akrapovic n the dealer replaced that and the midpipe under warranty.

What symptoms lead to you thinking that it is stuck closed?

The cable housing and the cable run along the bottom of the oil pan, then to the flapper motor. Probably have to remove the mufflers to get to it.

Maybe cutting the cable is enough (to open the valve) until you find time to remove the whole thing.

Why would you cut the cable when you can just remove it from the valve's mechanism? The valve is sprung so it defaults to the open position. It is held closed by the servo motor. When you turn the key on, you should hear the valve cycle its positions.

So on that note, have you unplugged the servo? Its connector is in the group below the batter. The actual servo is held in the housing forward of the oil pan, and it is where the cable leads to from the valve.

Man, there is always some f'd up advice on this forum lol.

Cutting/Removing it from the mechanism is what I was going for. If he can see that it can be removed instead of cutting it, I'm sure he would remove it.

Since it is pulled and stuck, I doubt he can just remove it.

Cutting the cable isn't the way I would go about it at all. You would never permanently modify something as a troubleshooting step.

At a minimum the first step is to actually verify that it is stuck closed.

This makes the most sense.
