Exhaust valve

Is this piece of stock kit for meeting sound regulation or they really have a contribution to engine performance?

Was thinking if it could have some similarities to variable (or in actual fact 2 step) length intake manifold like found in past R1,MV F4,aprilia's V4...to optimize speed of airflow in refilling the cylinders for the different range of RPM.....

Is the valve also to provide 2 different length of exhaust for 2 ranges of rpm, to alter the rate of scavenging exhaust gases?

For 1199, strictly for meeting noise emissions.

remove or restrict it!

I bought the kit to keep it open on my 10 and 1198. Even on dyno barely noticed a difference but exhaust note became constant and much louder at lower speeds. Sounds great. The kit is on ebay now ;-)

Do you have the 3500 rpm 2nd gear hesitation that people have mentioned ? Wonder if this might affect it.

My question also...
I'm hoping this is a cheap fix to a potentially expensive-to-iron-out problem.
