there is another notch for the bolt to line up with, thread until the bolt goes thru. That beinng said, if it threads hard, ABORT! bring to dealer. They used no anti-sieze and they are so tight they snap. I knew about this, worked it gingerly and it still snapped, and was bikeless while I waited weeks for one from italy

Mine was not tight, like some members have encountered btw this was helpful thanks bud
