Hey guys, does anyone else have issues with the Quickshifter?

i am still running in but around 6k you can use the quickshifter my dealer says.
i have issues between 4-5 gear en 5-6 gear popping into neutral and then popping back in 4th or 5th.

my dealer said i have to push the gearshifter harder.. but i don't know if that's the issue here. i will change the setting of my pedal though because i have a little too much space ( i think because of the false neutrals)

Anyone else has this ??? Help!

other then that the bike is GREAT.

please let me know!

I had it twice today between 5 and 6 but to be honest I think that was just me being overtired.
The DQS is bloody awesome.
Lazy changes and keeps the poke up.
Come to think of it, the 2 neutrals I had were when using the clutch.
To be honest my ZX10R did it all the time so I kinda got used to it.
Must be something in my lack of riding style lol

Not really used the quickshifter, other than once or twice to confirm it works. From my experience of them they don't work that well unless the transmission is under load. Not sure the acceleration your getting with a 6k rev limit is really what the QS was designed for. Wait until you've finished running-in and see how it persons above 8k.

yes i think you are right.. another guy here in holland had the same.

maybe i have to wait and see. but i did put lik 75% throttle and then as soon as i see the 6K turn bigger i pop the quickshifter and it works good from 1-2 2-3 3-4 then 4-5 or 5-6 is pops neutral sometimes..

Because of the gearing there will be more load in the transmission in low gears, so it makes sense that you have issues 4-5 and 5-6. I'd only really use the QS for sprints, on track or for embarrising expensive sports cars at traffic light drag races. :D

I had a couple going from 5th to 6th, but in all honesty, I had no business using when I did. Was not under high revs and an open throttle..

I hit a few false neutrals but realized that I just have to push the lever harder. Once I realized this I have had no false neutrals, make sure you push up until it can't travel anymore, i think it's more about making sure it travels the full distance until its reached the top, not how hard you push it.

Yeah had the same issue your dealer is right hit it harder and it is fine I don't have a problem now

I've only had one going from 4th-5th ...... my reward was REVS and RED dash lights for my slight of foot.

More conscious now to apply firm pressure and its all good.

DQS is a f'kin hoot :)

I did 150 miles on my dealers demo, used the QS the whole time and didn't get one false neutral, I was pleasantly suprised.

Good info !

I finished my full break in on the bike and only use the quickshift when nearing redline (10,000+ rpm) and havent had a problem, after reading this post i used it around 7 and 8 and did notice you have to shift alot harder and had two false neutrals, but when in the higher rpms it goes into the next gear with little effort. So maybe try using the DQS a little later in the rpm range and seeing how that works out for you.

thanks you guys. i think i will do 2 things.. 1st adjust the shifter closer to me feet :p
and second go higher in the rpm's ( after 1000km)

i do like the pop sound when you use the Quickshifter..Nice:p

i use mine a lot and not had one missed gear the DQS is great make sure you push on thru thats the secret :D

Rocky

I wonder if the false neutrals are due to using it at low RPMs. Has anyone been able to test it near redline?

Yeah and it works like a charm, dont even have to pull up that hard on the shift lever, its really smooth going from gear to gear when nearing redline

Yes I agree, DQS is so smooth and that's compared to my S1000RR I had, I have been using it all the time, the only time it's not liked it very much is because the throttle wasn't open, ideally you need to be opening the throttle to engage it or at least a constant throttle, and doesn't matter what rev range you are at, however the Termi's make a lovely pop of unburnt gases..... Nice

Im the same, 4th - 5th is the only place ive hit false neutral...

There's hardly any issue with using the clutch to shift up when dqs is activated is there?
