In the middle of getting the Termi's installed. (bike is gutted at this point)
Having them keep the cylinder heat shields off and gonna let them put the carbon loop cover on as there isn't a viable replacement avail at this moment.

I'll deal with it till I can wrap the header and find an original, pre heat changes, full Termi carbon cover. That one worked just fine for me.

So the usual pics and all will be posted when I take delivery in a few days.

DITTO - except, leaving cylinder shield on....they "talked me into it"...saying it has beneficial heat saving properties :)....i just said "ok, i'll try it, but it is going against my grain" (i prefer the look without it, so they promised they'll remove it if i so desire later on).....after a few miles (1) i probably won't notice the ugly thing

-- i ended up straying again, by getting bar end blinkers, and mirrors, even though i feel firstly, that ducati never intended for mirrors/blinkers/lights in general, to be on any of their motorcycles/superbikes.......and that bar end mirrors, no matter what, just do not fit the "genre" for superbikes......cafe bike yes.....superbike no........in any event, i can appreciate the look of the front without the beanstalk mirrors that come stock......so i'm having a little fun....

-- by the way, make sure they "86" your charcoal canister

-- i understand Tim is no longer at GoldCoast....true ?

The left hand side cylinder shield has a large cable harness inside the cover but not touching the cylinder. When your job is finished could you post a photo and maybe have a look where and how this harness is tied to. I tried to remove the cover but since the cover has been especially designed to enclose this harness I gave up. I do not want to do it wrong and melt it.

i'm about to dump the cyl shields as well. i hope they din't make it impossible.. i don't want to get stuck with such a slab of plastic on it.. :(

Yeah, Tim bailed for Austin, Texas. Was told he said didn't like the women around here! Can't blame him with all the gold diggers we have up here...

Leaving the mirrors and will put the block off plates my self later, so I can makes sure the wires are tucked away nice and stealthy.

I did see the wire harness on the left side under the cylinder heat shield. I will ask what they plan to do with that and pass the info on here.

Wouldn't mind bare end directionals, but that steals valuable lane splitting width and I need every damned mm!!

-- i was leaving it all alone.....but at the last moment, i caved......bar end mirrors and blinkers were a last moment thought since a buddy of mine was doing the same to his.....

-- sorry to see tim go....

-- the harness has to have a decent solution...it had to be there originally.....so it must go somewhere :)

i agree with one of the other posters....bar end mirrors/signals just don't look the best on a superbike, but i prefer them (in my case mirrors, i went with the LuxMachine block off plate signals instead) over the stock mirrors, but not by much.

no vertical cylinder head covers for me! :)

-- ok, so since you're not using the cylinder heat shields - give us the low down on your opinion for the need for the cylinder shield or not

Great. I would probably keep the NEW FULL Termi's Carbon heat shield on your bike, totally agree with NOT putting on the Engine Heat Shields.

Consider just getting the exhaust ceramic coated rather than wrapped.

i do not commute on or ride my bike in the city.
i ride the bike (hard) up in the canyons.
i wear leathers and technical gear underneath.
my seat is stock but re-covered, i also have the "Race Seat."
my bike has Termi slip-ons installed and a carbon heat guard.
i can feel the heat on the inside of my right leg, mostly at slower speeds, but not enough to ever justify using the cylinder covers.

i will never put the cylinder covers on my Panigale. ;)

I had the Termi's/CF heat shield installed and the rear cylinder heat shield removed. No issues with rear cylinder h-e-a-t yet. The CF heat shield looks a lot better in person than in photos!

I went with the Oberon bar end signals with a single left side CRG bar end mirror. Not the best look, but in my opinion a functional and better look than the standard mirrors. The mirror block offs look great!

I went with DP rearsets and DP license plate holder. Had all this done prior to taking delivery of the R.

Now the break-in begins! :D

Congratulations! It's about time... you were starting get a little bitchy.

Yeah, was in desperate need of Midol for the PMS I was going through.;)

Seeing it in pieces didn't fill me with enthusiasm after I found out the only Factory trained Pani tech skipped town...hoping that the other certified techs have picked up how to do an exhaust swap by osmosis by now. After that, it's really a no brainer that most of us could do in our own garages if we had to.

Based on it's level of gross dissection observed today; I'm sure it will be the weekend before I can take delivery.

I will nut and bolt everything possible, put on my new pegs, apply the 3M clear coat kit from TankSlapper and hit the roads.

I'll ask Gunny to get me an appropriate tail tidy and some sliders and I should be good to go.

Cannot think of anything else that this bike would need. It really does look more aggressive than the S and it has more sex appeal without the tricolor "in your face" bling.

Geez, nothing's easy is it? Well, once you get it out on the road all the bs you've been through will be forgotten. Make sure you post up some pics, congrats!

the loom and the heatshield

the build continues so we stripped the cyl heat shields sort of

the one on the left holds the rear loom ( ecu BBX , lights..)
it is pritty well fixed and may need the subframe to be loosened..

this is how it looks like after the first cover is gone

that looks like sh*t.

can anyone with a '12 S or Tri take a look at that area of their bike and tell us where that harness loom is currently?

Yes, that looks like ..... That is why I gave up as I did not know what to do with this rear loom. Where is it fixed on the 2012 models?
