- certainly agree....that wire harness section needs to be tucked up and away....
Yeah, was in desperate need of Midol for the PMS I was going through.
Seeing it in pieces didn't fill me with enthusiasm after I found out the only Factory trained Pani tech skipped town...hoping that the other certified techs have picked up how to do an exhaust swap by osmosis by now. After that, it's really a no brainer that most of us could do in our own garages if we had to.
Based on it's level of gross dissection observed today; I'm sure it will be the weekend before I can take delivery.
I will nut and bolt everything possible, put on my new pegs, apply the 3M clear coat kit from TankSlapper and hit the roads.
I'll ask Gunny to get me an appropriate tail tidy and some sliders and I should be good to go.
Cannot think of anything else that this bike would need. It really does look more aggressive than the S and it has more sex appeal without the tricolor "in your face" bling.
that looks like sh*t.
can anyone with a '12 S or Tri take a look at that area of their bike and tell us where that harness loom is currently?
Yes, that looks like ..... That is why I gave up as I did not know what to do with this rear loom. Where is it fixed on the 2012 models?
the rear cylinder heat guard/cover has me perplexed. how does its introduction cause wiring to show where they weren't to begin with? and why does the rear tail have to be raised to remove the piece? how big is the thing?
Straying slightly off topic,
Is there a new or different CF heat shield for the full termi system similar to the new heat shield? or is there only the CF heat shield it has had for the last year or so?
I told my shop to keep the cover for now... I just want it prepped so I can take it out for a spin!
-- me too...i let my son do the initial start......
yesterday was to show how it looked when you remove the cover..
Here are pics of the harness loom on my 2013 1199 ABS pre heatshield update

Well there is a lot that you can add to an R as with any other 1199. Kobe999 has posted probably the most impressive R build I have seen to date.
A prudent investment would be in some high quality frame sliders (with suspension) - SATO is probably the best.
Kope999R, are those pics from your R or another bike?
Nice pic of you and your son.
Are those the block off plates that came with the R? I thought they were aluminum?
