Picked up the 1st V4 in Austin yesterday. Will have it on track by Tuesday..
Took the demo out for a spin while I was there. It's an amazing machine all the way around. I know it's been mentioned in reviews, but the QS system is spot on. I had to F around with mine on the 1299 and switch to a Translogic rod, but this one is like what I would expect/assume the GP guys run. It was so quick and precise. Especially on the downshifts.
The power is impressive, but just taking it "easy" on a new demo bike that isn't mine, so didn't beat it up too hard. Feels very light and nimble and ergos are quite similar to the 1299. Brakes felt pretty good, but we'll see after some track time if I need to swap the front master again.
Still feels alot like the twin down low but with much cleaner takeoffs from standing start. It's definitely not like any silky I-4. Still has that meaty, aggressive feel to the motor.
It's currently getting prep'd for the track. Just some quick basics like windscreen, mirror block offs, and yanking off all the street related garbage. Should have some feedback sometime next week from the track. Oh, and looks like it's just 1 bolt swap/relocation and you can rock GP shift on the stock rearsets.
So far the accessories are really really limited. Exhaust isn't available yet, so have to wait on that. Tossed on the carbon tank cover thing, really helps break up the monotony of red.
Pretty excited so far. Hopefully its a solid ownership experience all the way around.
