So I thought I would share a bit of frustration and info on engine light and ruff running 1299
in the last few rides my bike will throw a red engine lamp and the yellow one on the rh bottom of display, at speed it’s difficult to feel the motor running not 100%.
this fault comes and goes and it had me thinking I had a dead plug and in fact after a cold start and short idle I shut it off and rear pipe was cold ...so I thought this is it and set off to change the plug
this made a slight improvement and the bike has 9800km on it ...sadly a few moments into the next ride the engine lamp comes on and it’s sputtering at robots
now this engine lamp has been coming and going for months and I thought it was water in a connector ....
as it turns out it’s a MAP Sensor , replaced it and bike is as new full power and smooth on the throttle, I did try to get to the front plug but gave up.
So a number of threads about this engine light and yellow engine on rh side of display,..this was my irritation that is now sorted , hope it helps a fellow owner who does not have fancy diagnostic tools
