Guys please help, I have read the threads on the problems of the Ducati DQS I have a 1299 and had this replaced under warranty a while back. Bike now has 13000km on it and it seems this thing is playing up again? The threads cover aftermarket fitment and other ..I get the red engine warning, then the orange engine icon in bottom rhs of TFT …then DQS does not work.
When I restart it goes away for a while, I started with the battery despite it testing ok, I fitted new one and same thing, warning and no DQS
pulled the micro switch - red, blue & black wire …I found black to be negative with red being 5 volts + the blue was 4.2 -3.9 v I was unable read resistance by activating the micro switches
So I got brave I shorted the red and blue effectively putting +5 into the blue wire, hoping the engine light will just go away and I can ride it normal using the clutch, as I energised ignition the engine lamp illuminated, so I removed the link, cleaned all connections took it for a run and DQS works and no warnings After about 10 Km it came on again? and DQS not working, so I went into menu and switched off the DQS option, however the warning lamp remains yet when switching on I get afew kms with no issues?

is anyone able to give a non mechanic a basic description of what or where the issue is ?

Those 5v shifters have a ground, 5v supply and a signal wire which goes to the ECU. On the V4 at idle the signal wire is sending 2.5v to the ECU. A upshift sends 3.8v and a downshift 1.8v…roughly. I’m going off of memory.

It’s hard to know why the warning lamp is on without knowing the code.

I have the exact problem. I’ve been wondering if this is a common problem with the 1299. 🤔
