first post! went to the track with an 1199R and after changing out new wheels there is no ABS ring on the front, didn't want to use the ABS any way but was told without that the computer will not allow Traction control or other computer options to function properly, any one have an insight to this, it is only a race bike but I'm thinking the ring needs to be there!

yes you need the ring. unless you want to turn TC and ABS off...

i mounted a new tire once in a hurry, inserted the frond wheel the wrong way round, then hauled the bike out...

TC kicked in, i could barely move. turned it all off to move along .

so yes, no ring, no thing ;)

ok, I was told the bike would think the bike was in a constant wheelie, I programed the bike with some TC and ABS off and was told it would be down on HP it ran like it was down on HP for sure...thanks

ok I was told that you must run that ring regardless, the front sensor communicates with the rear sensor and if there is a problem between the 2 even with TC off it still will not allow the bike to run over 120HP???
