I am having rebound issues on my front forks of my 1199 Panigale base. They were rebounding extremely fast (bouncy) with the rebound adjuster set to close. Ducati replaced the forks and now the new ones are also rebounding extremely fast with the rebound adjuster set to close (only 40 miles on the new forks). They are not as bad as the replaced forks, but still way too bouncy. Any advice?

See if you can get a cartridge kit for them from Dan Kyle or Race Tech or Lindeman Engineering.

I don't have any personal experience with MZ forks except the version on my MTB.

Quite a few stories on here and other forums about how the bladders blow out and other issues.

Perhaps a kit from: Ohlins Cartridge Kits Ohlins 30mm NIX Cartridges Best Prices

might help? I would imagine the internals on the base model are quite simple to keep costs in check.

Good luck!

I'm on set 4, they don't rebound so fast as the last lot but there is no adjustment at all, still fighting with Ducati as they denied that there is any issues with Marzocchi forks, for me they are too hard, I guess in the end I will fit Ohlins, but maybe cartridges because the Marzocchi's are incredibly light.

What is the weight penalty associated with going the Ohlins route vs cartridges?

Oh boy keep this between me and you because if I said is better to get the fork there will be like 20 people trying to kill me but you ask
you can get the fork for like $1900, the S model fork are heavy just because they have that servo on the top but the R/T fork are just the same as the stock fork. if you want to sell the bike is more attractive than the cartridges kit also if you want to sell your ohlins fork it will be very easy to sell

Did you install the FGRT's yourself?

Looks like you replaced your rear shock as well. My sachs has been running strong, it's just my marzocchi's which are giving me a headache. Why did you switch out your sachs?

Being honest with you will get more for you money by getting rid of that pieces of metal make by sachs, the rear TTX it will give you more bang for you money, the rear spring was too soft for my weight and there is only two setting soft or hard.
yeas I got the FGRT and i did my self if you have a good torque wrench and a set of Allen socket you can do it in like 3 hrs top. the dealer want like $250 to do it .... that.

Agree 100%, paid almost the same for cartridges which will leave with the bike, the forks could have stayed with me.

I was told those are the same forks on the SL, just not in black. And the SL has a customized damping characteristics, slightly different stack config.

I have a conversation with Ohlins USA before I purchase the fork because I was looking for the black one, and they said that Ducati is ordering black fork for the SL and the different is the spring are lighter.

you made an S but better"¦"¦.nice!

is not better than an S because at the end of the day is still a base with abs but the way I look it:
$17500 Panigale base with abs out the door
$2900 full termi
$1450 forged wheels
$450 led headlight
$1900 ohlins F/R fork with the right spring
$1100 TTX shock with the right spring
total $25,300 so no saving and is still a base model with abs the different is the at the moment of buying the bike I only have $18,000 for the bike I did not want to take a loan to get the S model so yes I got the base but cash and every part the I put on it is paid for it also is fun to add .... to your bike every other month it make you feel like a new bike every time

I don't know if the suspension is better than the oem stuff but If I decide to sale the bike I know for sure I can get most of the money back from the parts

Thanks for posting this, I am deciding what to do about my forks, the bike very nice and there is something about putting it together yourself, I just fitting my TTX. its pissing with rain so what else to do!
