Front Fork Reflectors

Haha, my ride home when the bike was new from the dealer, which is only about 7 miles away, is when my left reflector fell off. I remember hearing it and feeling the thump of it going under the bike on the freeway.

When I got home I figured out it was a reflector and I immediately pulled off the double sided tape for it and the right reflector w/ tape and stuck them in a bag.

They are around here somewhere. If anybody wants to buy one reflector and two double sided pieces of foam tape I will gladly sell them to you.

Name your price :D

Cali reflector option

I recommend using the reflective tape and making a band around the fork. They are reflective and that might pass.

I've taken mine off too.

But, in California, removing them is illegal and sufficient cause for a traffic stop.

I got a 35.00 "fix it" ticket on my Monster. Riding down the road, local police cruiser pulled along side for a few seconds, dropped back then lit me up. Fortunately, I was abiding by the speed limit!

He said, law requires reflectors affixed front and rear and that he knew they were there when I bought the bike. I think he was expecting a young kid under the helmet but wrote the ticket, nonetheless.

I had to buy the reflectors, put them back on the bike, make an appointment with the police department for them to inspect the bike and sign the ticket and then had to pay 35.00.

Took the reflectors off when I got back home. Two nights later I ran into a sobriety check point on the newly re-de-reflectorized Monster and that same effing officer was there and recognized me. That SOB pulled me out of line and gave me another ticket for riding a non-street legal/modified motorcycle on public streets - COST: 250.00.

And, I took the reflectors off again. But, I don't go through that town anymore! Watch out you other NORCAL riders - this was in Danville.

Other than a mirror screw, this was my only issue i had with this bike.

Yep, both of mine fell off before I even noticed they were there. I have seen the later Panigales with zip-tied-on reflectors, so the dealers must be aware of it. As far as removing them, they peel right off (the black sticky foam), and as stated earlier, a little WD-40 will clean off any residue left behind.

In California reflective tape will do but it has to be amber which sucks. I got a fix it ticket for missing front reflectors by by the local police department on my R1. I went to autozone to buy some reflectors and double sided tape because i procrastinated until the last day before i was to show up at the police station, but the store clerk told me to use amber tape because he gotten a ticket for the same thing and thats what he did. So i did and went to the police station they signed it off and I didnt have to pay anything but if I would of missed the date or not correct the so called problem it's was going to be $250. Tape was removed when I got back home.

I really don't want to poo poo on your state, but man every other thing I read about Cali driving somehow ends up in a ticket. Not sure if I could stand to ride out there. I like my freedom rights too much. I suppose there are positives to living out there too.
Just my observation lately.
