Fuel Pump Priming

Depends if it's oxygenated or not I think. Non-oxygenated is fine on fuel lines. Oxygenated stuff like MR12 corrodes them and gums up everything as much of it evaporates very quickly and leaves residue everywhere.

I am running no oxygenated fuel. I had bought the MR12 and decided not to use it and use just leaded fuel.

Yeah you can try popping the cap open see if it starts. The stock cap and most the aftermarket ( I have tried them all) the Lightec billet gas cap is the only one out there that actually vents correctly especially on the carbon tanks.

Made sure everything was good, I think it a vacuum issue going on in the tank. Im going to remove the gas cap and see if that works.

  1. Disconnect the hose that connects the fuel pump to the carburetor. ...
  2. Spray a three second burst of starting fluid into the carburetor. ...
  3. Repeat the spray-and-die procedure until you see fuel begin to wet the rag on the fuel line.
  4. Reconnect the fuel line to the carburetor.

He's not starting a lawn mower from last season...

Hey, I see many suggestions here. And has anybody tried any of them in real life? It is great to have so many tips, but I do not want to lose time on something that does not work. Please share your observations. I am from worldpostalcode.com/united-states/new-york/, and you may also contact me directly with the useful information. I hope you do not mind to mail me.

Well figured out the issue. I bought a new fuel pump and installed it. Well still had the same issue. Pulled the upper air box off and found the steering stem nut got wedged between the throttle valve. The slit in the steering nut slid right on it. Took it off and reassembled everything and started right up.

How the .... did the steering stem nut get into the airbox in the first place?

Let's revisit the first post...."Ok, so I had my bike outside running and it just shut off for no reason." LMFAO.

Backyard mechanics have to be the single biggest hit to Ducati's reliability ratings...FFS.
