Fuel Tank Vacuum

I have just bought a 2014 1199 and tried to open the fuel cap found it almost impossible as it was held down by a vacuum in the fuel tank.
Is this normal or is a breather blocked.
Thank you for any ideas.

Your vent hose is probably smashed, kinked, of blocked. You will want to fix this before it sucks your tank in.

Fixed

I took off the fuel cap and some fool had put the rubber gasket on round the wrong way blocking the vent pipes!
All fixed. Thank you
