Hi, installed and forgot to put on the heat guard on the front header,. is it needed or is there another method of heat protection. I asked because I tossed the old pipe (save the hardware tho). The 2 wire connections, are the sensors and can I eliminate them.

I would run the heat guard.

It gets really hot in that area. You will burn your fairings and the black electrical component in there if you remove the heat guards.
I doubt you can remove the sensors without having some kind of software to over-ride the system. Your bike will run like crap if it makes it that far.
