I have the RS10s mounted now and I've done one track day on them as well. I have limited experience on the Q3s. I bought a set when they first got released in 2013 simply because the Q2s I've been using for the track (and loved). For the street, the Q3s were great but I traded in my bike before getting a chance to ride the track with them.

The RS10s on my 2012 S. Didn't have a chance to set up my suspension at the track because the guy wasn't there that day. The front felt locked in all day, but the rear got pretty sloppy after about 20 mins out there. Got progressively worse throughout the day (DTC on 4 and it worked great). It was sloppy but manageable and predictable. I still won't be re-buying a set because the wear was pretty quick. I could've gotten another couple sessions on the rear but it would've been toast after. I only had 150 street miles on the it before the TD. This is what it looked like after 64 laps. I'll be trying the Q3s next because I read the 190/55 is damn near the same size as the RS10 200/55.

The wear was typical to the BT003s I tried on my track prepped R6 a few years ago. I got two days on the track (proly because it was a 600cc and not a 1200cc) but at the end of the second day the rear was also getting sloppy.

Exactly the info I was looking for. Seems alot like the Q3s. One good track day, anything more they are toast. Both brands would make excellent street mountain tires though.

The more I rethink about all this, race tires are the only good solution for the tracks. Guess that's why they make two designs.

Well my bike does double duty so I opt for the street/track combo. Race tires are ....... expensive. I might do 2-3 TDs a year.

Interesting...why do you think lower mileage than Q3??

As these are the replacement for the BT003RS, I think they'll likely slot in with a bit softer compound than Q3's. Maybe not by much, but Bridgestones tend to run on the soft side in my experience. I'll be pleasantly surprised if that's not the case and I get similar or better mileage. Should be a nice sporting street tire for the Panigale; Q3's do have enough grip for my purposes, but I tend to think a bit softer carcass ala Bridgestone gives better feel with such a laterally stiff bike. Like all these type tires, I imagine they'd overheat after a few quick laps on the track, but then that's what they make the R10's for... ;)

Forgot to add for DLIT: the Q3's will definitely affect the TC with the 190/55 rear. Not much when they're fresh, but when the rear wears down it really does get your TC going. Not a deal breaker for casual road or track fun, but it's there. When new, the Q3 front is a few mm larger in diameter than the Pirelli and the rear 190/55 Q3 is 7MM smaller, so the sensors pick it up as spin a bit sooner.

Sounds a lot like the RS10s then. Near the end of the later sessions TC was going a lot. I do have to say, all reviews of the TC were pretty accurate. While it was coming on a lot it didn't disrupt the bike a whole lot.

Quick first impressions of the RS10's after their first day out on Cherohala & surroundings with a pass through the Gap. Thumbs up; this is a very nice tire for the Panigale. They feel like the carcass is stiffer than the S20's; a bit more like a Dunlop in that respect, which makes sense for a more sport-oriented tire. But to my thinking, they have more feel at the front and more grip at either end than Q3's, which I've run through quite a few of. Was warm & dry out, mid-upper 80's at lower elevations and mid 60's at top of the Skyway, and I was running my default 32/32 pressures, which I usually baseline with on the street. Was switching between TC at 2 or 3 and seeing less TC engagement than in a loooong time. Very neutral tire, with no odd profiles or behavior to get used to, and the sizing and diameters work great with Ducati's TC.

Next, we'll see how they like a bit different pressures and how long they hold up - a few shots from the day...

EDIT: added a profile comparison; left to right are Q3, S20, OEM SP's, RS10's. Left two are 190/55's, right two are 200/55. RS10's have very similar profile to the Q3's, but resolve all TC issues from running the 190/55.

Thanks for the update..Got mine and will install this weekend (I even received the rebate already).... Might try 32/30 though.....

Yep, that's next step; just usually start out a bit higher as a lot of that kind of day out doesn't call for lower pressures and the wear is a bit better with more.

I am hoping to get the same/better performance than I did with the Q3 ...Grip was never an issue with those... Longevity is the test..... But I understand Bridgestone are not known for this.... No idea why I wanted a different tyre for the Q3 I have nothing bad to say about it.... But I am always intrigued and curious to try new things... :)

Thank you so much for the first impressions Steve B and quick review of the RS10s. My Supercorsa is starting to show signs of replacement.

I've been hearing awesome things about the RS10 and love the price, but wasn't completely sold on it until I read your post. Thanks!
