Looking good :)

They're up on the website now. I know Sato are working on some right now too. Lots of good choices. I'd like to see the Rizoma's up close, but for a bike that'll see track duty I'm leaning towards either Gilles or Satos.

Hmm .. Just a personal opinion, having seen all the rear sets, I realize I went with the most expensive option, however I am glad I purchased the Ducati Performance Rear Sets. Like I said a personal opinion.

Can't believe we were just talking about this dude!! Would someone pls post the dam link to these rear sets!! I've been waiting like a crack whore here!

gilles.tooling - Products

Here's a direct link. The rearset for other bikes is $299 but for the 1199 it's $649...of course.

These look good and have 4 points of adjustability I believe. Still not GP shift compatible from what I can tell.

Gonna wait until they clarify the street legal kit.

Hey man, I'm fairly certain it's an optional brake light kit. I did a quick google for similar setups and it just looks like a pressure switch to keep the rear brake light working. This is pretty standard for aftermarket rear sets - some manufacturers include a banjo bolt pressure switch.

Here's an example (note - might not be the one you'd use on an 1199 though): Gilles Street Legal Kit

Fyi, when you add the black set to the cart on the Gilles website the price drops to $589 excl VAT. Shipping is $9.50. Shift-tech should still ends up less with $22 shipping.

Not sure if I like them or not...I'll post up good close up pics when I get the Rizoma sets in as I think they are going to look better.

Cali dont shoot me for saying this  because I love the look of DP rearsets, but did not you mention in other threads the DP rearsets had been rattling apart on you?

These gilles ones come a close second IMO....I like that you can use the oem heel pads or DP carbon heel pads.. $419 Euro also works out a little over $500..value for money when compared to DP and Austin racing ones...

Iceman, I am not going to shoot you my friend and especially for expressing your personal opinion :) I kind of take peoples comments as their personal opinions and not projected facts ;-)

I am sure that 'other' parts manufacturers appreciate that I don't piss and moan all over their spam posts on this forum or do 'competitive shoot-outs' between products between vendors. Especially when said manufactures start stating crap about radiators guards in an attempt to .... on their competition ; PERSONAL OPINION.

I did indeed mention on another thread that both sides of my DP rear sets had bolts that worked themselves loose. In my personal opinion I am finding that several bolts on the 1199 on the bike appear to be vibrating loose. I honestly believe that one would be fine as long as one checks the bolts before and after a ride. I chalk the vibrating bolts to be part of the Ducati 1199 'experience'.

Now would a one-off bolt experience on both sides of the DP rear sets put me off the DP rear sets - no. The DP rear sets are works of art, and they feel amazing, combined with the DP levers they really add to the riding experience. I know the DP levers and rear sets are the most expensive, however IN MY PERSONAL OPINION I believe them to be well worth it and the best in all categories. If price is not an issue then I highly recommend them.

Trust me when I say I judge everything on its value rather than tag price and I consider the DP (except the tank pad) to be the best value.

I keep stating over and over again that for my personal choice I want Ducati and Ducati Performance as I want to experience what the DUCATI designers intent is. Please allow me to add three caveats, Evotech low radiator guard (simple and very effective) and the other projects that I have underway - RIZOMA accessories and JET HOT COATING the entire exhaust.

Trust this helps.

Hopefully you'll get a set in next couple of weeks since I'm gonna be out there and dropping in to visit you!
Wishful thinking though.

Yeah, no word on shift tech, trying to find out if they coem with the street legal kit, or if mine is good. :{
