Do it. I went to great lengths to make this happen on my 899. Just have to source out the parts and go for it. Its much easier to do on any 959/1199/1299.

If you can find the Magnesium clutch cover for your 899, then your Golden!

Good luck to all.

They look dumb. Dry clutch is cool, no reason for a clear one in a wet clutch.

They look cool. It is kind of a nod to the dry clutch days. (Which are back with the v4r too)

I'll admit I hadn't seen one before I bought my V4S. As cool as I think it looks, I doubt it's as strong and I have better things I could spend my money on. The only thing I would consider buying just for looks are the frame covers. I met a Speciale owner the other day that had them and I really like the looks of them.

I have heard that Ducati is testing a dry clutch conversion kit and it should be available as a DP part soon. I would think like other parts they offer if installed by a certified dealer it would be covered under warranty.

Out for sale since last month.

For all intents and purposes, the cover is strictly for aesthetics and perhaps best-suited for street applications, and with regards to any such cosmetic item, it's just a matter of personal taste. It can, however, allow you to easily determine if the clutch slave is disengaging the clutch when the clutch lever is depressed.

Only looks good at idle, give it a rev or ride and all you see is oil sloshing around.

If you live in a place with warm days and cool night, expect to see condensation and milky droplets on the inside of cover.

its a cool mod for like 5mins...

I am thinking of taking mine off the 1199s and going back to gold cover. It spends more time being milky than clear.

If you're getting milky more then anything it's cause the bike never got up to temperature. Go ride it 15-20 miles on a warm day it won't be milky anymore that day.

Yep that is right that if you get out for a longer haul it normally burns off for those commuting on shorter journeys won't play.

Am toying with a similar issue at the moment of whether to get cage on dry clutch cage on the V4R. Nice novelty factor (and enhanced sound) but I worry about all the crap from the track and road getting in there.

I for one am against it but to each of it's own! I'm against it because of a subjective and objective reason. The objective one is simple as others stated before me: adds glass where it doesn't belong and if you track the bike and low side it then you risk spilling tons of oil on the track. The subjective reasons is that I like on my bike the golden combo and the clutch cover goes well with the mag rims and soon the titanium motocorse radiators protectors.

Anyone spend time staring at the front loader washing machine? Glass clutch covers are total bling with no upside.

So the dealer is offering a great price on the see thru cover... forget the brand, but it's one of the good ones, made in Italy. Red ring, with black plate cover..

I'm torn tho, as I do like the stock look too... what do you all think?

I personally like the clear cover more.
