I'm stoked and I gotta tell someone so I'm telling you guys.

A friend at work is getting Google Glass (arrives today) and he wants me to take it out for a spin on my bike.

I'm definitely into gadgets and I can't wait for the helmets with heads up displays come out. This is the next best thing.

Not sure if I'll be able to take it out this weekend or have to wait till next but as soon as I do I'll post up with thoughts (as it pertains to riding) and some video from inside the helmet.

Feedback would be awesome...

Sweet. Lots of questions but biggest is obviously the cost of a set of these?

I've had one for a month now, and it hurts to wear it in my helmet, plus hits the side of it.

I am fervently praying and hoping against hope that sane legislators outlaw wearing/using those while operating a motor vehicle.

You know, its not probably anyone on this forum you have to worry about. The problem, as with anything in life, is the least-common-denominator folk. The drivers that aren't coordinated, or responsible, or both - so much so that they can't handle any more distractions - are the ones I'm most worried about.

Mobile phone use was bad enough, texting was miles worse, and this will just be yet another thing that will cause people to make mistakes when driving. It doesn't take much for a cager to kill a biker, and for some people, use of this device will be enough.

Not quite.

No problem with putting rpm or mph or odo info that you already have on the dash onto your face shield.
But google glass tethered to an android 4g means you can be driving while surfing web/reading emails/sms/playing vid games/etc. ........ with Smartphones already kill a lot of people. Google Glass will make it even easier (to kill people).
Google Glass is just a crude first pass. Like any new technology it's going to be rapidly refined. Google says it won't have a direct 4g transceiver. How long do you think that will last? Because you know their competitors will.
Once it's down to the price of a low-end smart phone, every self-absorbed twit around is going to have one. While driving.

That should scare any motorcyclist. The carnage from distracted driving is bad enough now. Just wait until you can wear your smartphone on the front of your face.

Got mine last December and like Trauma said they don't fit well in the helmet. They do offer the potential to get heads up display for navigation but still very (very) beta. Cheers!

Ps if anyone want to buy mine I'll let them go for $1,000 as I've only worn them twice
