Been riding since 1996 and all were Japs bikes. This is the first time i'm really interested in owning a ducati since it's a new engine with timing chain together with wet clutch.

I am surprised that you were swayed solely because of the 1199's inclusion of a wet clutch and it's use of timing chains in the new engine.
Their advantage over belts and a dry clutch is marginal other than perhaps offering a little more longevity and less noise. It has never put most prospective buyers off buying Ducatis over the last 18 years, when the 916 first hit the showroom floors with the more familiar setup.
The evolution of the 916 has spawned some very very capable road going superbikes out of the Bologna factory gates, none of which had a wet clutch or a cam chain in sight. The gulf in prices between them and Japanese bikes is perhaps one of the more likely reasons people were influenced to buy other products, as opposed to basing their decisions on it's componentry
Aesthetics aside, a good bike is the sum of its parts and how well they are designed to work together as opposed to individual components...the "package" for want of a better word.
IMHO, ultimately this is what sets the 1199 ahead of its predecessors.
Despite this, I will miss the dry clutch, as it has become so synonymous with the brand and helped set it apart from the rest.
