Ok just installed my new grips and as a few have stated use a can of compressed air like you would for the computer and the oem grips slide right off.. Now on install I used soapy water and it was working until I forgot to use the compressed air again and boom, snapped the tabs on the throttle assy.. FML.. So then used compressed air again with the soapy water and they slid right on..
USE SOAPY WATER AND COMPRESSED AIR FOR EVERY SINGLE STEP DO NOT FORGET!!!!!!!!!
You manhandled that baby... Easy it on in like a gentleman and don't go ramming her home
So, no glue inside the grips so they stick when you slide them on???
Actually an air compressor makes quick removal and replacement of the grips pretty easy.

There are many ways to skin a cat.
FWIW - I have probably swapped grips at least 20 times on several different bikes, and have never used Compressed Air nor soapy water, not once.
I have always done the hair spray thing. The hair spray stays wet long enough to lubricate the grips so they slide on ok (but do it quickly), and then when it dries it acts like grip glue.
I'm considering removing the bar weights all together when installing my progrip 717s.. Any thoughts?
