I installed Grab-On grip covers over the existing grips on my 1299 and ZX-14R. Low cost and easy to install.

Ok just installed my new grips and as a few have stated use a can of compressed air like you would for the computer and the oem grips slide right off.. Now on install I used soapy water and it was working until I forgot to use the compressed air again and boom, snapped the tabs on the throttle assy.. FML.. So then used compressed air again with the soapy water and they slid right on..

USE SOAPY WATER AND COMPRESSED AIR FOR EVERY SINGLE STEP DO NOT FORGET!!!!!!!!!

lol.. I did like my first time easy does it partner no body slamming and jamming required.

Oh well.. I can get a new throttle assy easily.. Still not missing my track days over it though.

The Driven Diamond Superbike grips are excellent and only $12! The diamonds/dimples absorb vibration very well. The only drawback is they will wear out in a year or two, but at $12, who cares :)

Actually an air compressor makes quick removal and replacement of the grips pretty easy.

I have an air compressor.. How do you use it to blow air in between the grips and the bar/throttle?

I have the little push handle air blower with the black tip but not sure how you guys use it to get air between the bar and the grip.

Maybe I don't have the right attachment, or just need to try it out when I get home tonight to really see how it works.

have 717 progrips on each of my bikes. they feel great.

hairspray is also your friend slides right on and off or rubbing alcohol these evaporate quickly you shouldnt have a problem.

So, no glue inside the grips so they stick when you slide them on???

I haven't needed any glue or safety wire for the Pani but on my RSV4 track bike I used glue and safety wire cause I was having an issue with the throttle side sliding off a bit.

Progrips 719 on my 1199. Love the feel. Now I need some of those heavier bar ends to dampen a bit more of the vibrations.

There are many ways to skin a cat.

FWIW - I have probably swapped grips at least 20 times on several different bikes, and have never used Compressed Air nor soapy water, not once.

I have always done the hair spray thing. The hair spray stays wet long enough to lubricate the grips so they slide on ok (but do it quickly), and then when it dries it acts like grip glue.

I used WD40

I'm considering removing the bar weights all together when installing my progrip 717s.. Any thoughts?
