Thanks JHT, it was way too close for comfort and reminds me things can happen in a blink of an eye, has me seriously thinking about my motorcycle future. Unfortunately I have a collection of 12 bikes, 11 sportbikes including three Ducatis and one cruiser that might need to be sold off. I think we all go through this after a crash (or near crash). All the gear all the time, s**t happens.
 
Here's what I hit, two steel pieces formed out of 1/4" plate steel and joined by heavy nylon webbing, about 5-6 lbs total, really nasty, could have easily ended a lot worse than it did though. Ducati dealer is saying as much as $4000 to repair, oil pan is $400, new Pirelli Super Corsa is around $350, new pan gasket, oil and filter and exhaust gaskets, miscellaneous hardware, as they said the exhaust has to be dropped to get the oil pan off. So about $1000 in parts and $3000 labor, I was expecting around $2000 total.
