Had a REALLY Bad Day Yesterday on my New V4!

Here's a cockpit view of the corner where I lost the back end on my V4 taken from the dash cam on my BMW, choppy right hander with an Armco steel barrier on the far left, I was cranked over about 45 degrees, felt the rear end step waaay out and crossed over the double yellow centerline into oncoming lane before regaining control just short of the Armco. This could have ended far worse, I count myself very fortunate, at the end of the day it's only money.

I used to have my radar detector on the screen too but they eventually break the mounts from vibration
LOL, I have a drawer full of broken ones, the #64 rubber band around the bracket helps support the detector and extend the life span to about 6 months of riding but you're correct, they always fatigue and crack eventually.

We're coming out of Wyoming into Colorado somewhere above Walden. The guy in front in a pickup is going about 90 so I figure I'd let him scrub. As we approach the border he climbs on the brakes. The trooper was literally hiding behind the welcome to Colorado sign.

Ive had a really good run out of a quadlock mounted on the stem with a butterfly/toggle bolt

This got off topic real fast!
Did you end up getting it fixed?
Yes, picked it up this morning and have been out putting break in miles on it, up to 123 miles now. Looks like the Ducati dealer I took it to did a good job on the repairs if a bit pricey, bike sounds and looks great. I am going to be brutally honest though, this machine is a bit underwhelming to me. Not reving it hard yet, up to 9500 rpm max so far but I should at least be feeling some upper midrange torque kick in and it is not impressing me so far, feels dull. My 1299 feels way quicker, my RSV4 feels like it would leave it for dead and my RS660 even feels like it would kick it's ass down low to midrange. Maybe just needs more miles and revs and I'll find where this bike shines. Settings, Full Power, DTC 1, DWC 1, EBC 1, DSC 1, ABS 2.

These motors make about the same power as a 1098 until about 9500. Then the real top end starts.
Not a big wheely monster like your 1299 or a 1198 but wait until you can spool it up before passing judgement. BTW the stock mapping and fueling blows. The part throttle midrange is really lean as delivered. And the US ones are neutered somewhat by the Feds.

Thanks Bagger, sounds like a remap is coming, can I stay with the stock cats and cans? I like the clean look of the OEM system and am not going to drop $8K on a Termi or Akra...o_O

I will say the bike looks good!
